CRAFT FAIR

The Craft Fair is held on the fourth Sunday of every
month with the exception of Easter, when it is always on Easter Sunday,
and in December when it is held on the third Sunday of the month. The
sales day opens at 8.30 am and closes at 12.30 pm. Parking is available on
site with disabled car parking at the front of the Centre.
The sales stalls are situated in the studios and courtyards and are set
on the road around the site amongst native trees and walking between the
various stalls along the road gives the feel of a bush walk and a pleasant
atmosphere.
The sales day’s emphasis is on goods, which the stallholders must make
themselves. Plants must also be grown by the stallholder who displays them
for sale. This is the reason we call it the “make or grow it sales day”.

Another attraction is the wide range of changing exhibitions on show
throughout the year in the Matthew Flinders Gallery as well as a large
collection of art and craft items for sale in the Members Gallery.
Refreshments are available from the kitchen situated at the rear of the
Matthew Flinders Gallery, which opens on to the deck overlooking the
courtyard. Devonshire teas and barbequed sausages and beverages are served
at a reasonable price.

Demonstrations can be seen in the Gem Club building and the Woodcrafters
buildings during the morning. There are also demonstrations in the pottery
studios and Painting in Studio 2.
A special music program ensures that there is always a musician performing
on site during the Craft Fair.
The majority of our stallholders are with us every month of the year. If
you would like to purchase something special they will be happy to have it
for you the following month.
Many have been with us for over ten years.
If you are looking for a pleasant morning stroll through the trees with a
dash of retail therapy then our Craft Fair is the place for you and
your friends. |
