SPINNERS AND WEAVERS GROUP
The Spinners and Weavers Group meet every Tuesday in Studio 4, at the
Community Arts Centre, Sunderland Drive, Banksia Beach from 9.30 a.m. to
12.00 noon.

Both men and women of all cultures have practised the crafts of spinning
and weaving in many forms since ancient times.
The diversity of fibres available is wool, alpaca, cotton, silk, flax,
camel wool, – can be used, alone or in combination, to make
beautiful and unusual articles. The group is also beginning to experiment
with felting.
Available at the Centre for use by group members are:
- Spinning Wheels
- Floor and table looms for making
material for anything from spindle tablemats to sophisticated garment
lengths.
- Inkle loom to make belts and bands
- Frame looms for tapestry weaving
A large selection of books covering all
aspects of the craft is available for loan.
New members and visitors are always welcome to attend group meetings.
